My neurophone arrived last Sat. It looks quite simple, but the directions package is missing one thing that most directions have and that is a picture with the name of each of the parts. Not that there are many parts.
The vendor does offer a getting start up phone call, which I haven't made yet.
Day 1. There is a way to test the sound that you can hear, by putting the 2 buttons (I don't recall the name and I don't think they are electrodes), and holding it close to your ears. Both sets worked.
I put one set of electrodes on my skin with max volume and I didn't hear anything. I tried both sets of electrodes, I heard nothing. Where the 9v battery is as a variable voltage switch, you can go from 5V to 22 V. I put it to 22 V and still could not hear. I knew I didn't want to leave it there, so I put it to about the halfway point.
I figured, maybe after a few days I will be able to hear it.
Day 1, I think I had it on close to 1.5 hrs, I didn't really check the time and I think I fell asleep. At one point, I did a feel a slght tingling just left o f my center forehead. And I did get to a deep meditation.
I did this in the late afternoon, the next morning, I woke up very refreshed.
Also, On
Day 2, I had it one with both sets of electrodes for an hour. There was a small part of the time I could hear a small white noise in my forehead. When I went to adjust the volume to verify and my had was on the neurophone the sound got louder.
Day 3, On Day 3, I had a very long day and got home after midnight, so I put just one set of electrodes on my upper chest where it would stay put while I slept. I don't know how long I had it on for, and hour or two and I woke up and put it aside.
Day 4-Again I did this at bedtime, many times when I go into a deep meditation I will see pulsing purple in my 3rd eye area and sometimes twirling lines of colors, just for a split second. Well this time, it was strange it was like there was a iime/brownish green aura (I use this term as it reminded me of the one time I saw my aura from a computer image Kirlian? photo) as the outline of the twirling lights, and it starting left of my center forehead (3rd eye) and moved to the center. I have never had that happen before. Shortly after instead of twirling lights, I just had a brilliant flash of light. My history is, at most during meditation, I could see the flash of twirling lights twice.
Sometime during my use, the sound all of a sudden appear very strongly in my 3rd eye area. That is very strange.
Day 5 (last nigt)
I had a floating appt last night and before I go in, I like to listen to my brian entrainment cd (www.profoundmeditationprogram.com PMP 3.0) at least 10 minutes before going in. Yesterday I had plenty of extra time so I set my ipod for a 40 min session, and I did have the twirling lights again and this was accompanied with a flash of light.
I did have the neurophone on again at bedtime, for about an hour. When I am able to be up and not in bed with covers, then I use both sets of lead wires.
My summations: The neurophone is helping me to achieve deeper medition states. When I am not using the neurophone it seems that I am still able to reach a deeper state of meditation then I had prior to using the neurophone.
I believe the ability to hear the neurophone may have something to do with how much neural activity one has in their frontal lobes. I think the NF is increasing the neural connections in my frontal lobs.
I have not yet transfered the CD it came with to my computer, to play with 5 tracks they have provided. I think they are for different brain wave states. I dont recall for sure. And I have not experimented yet, with any super learning using it during reading. Probably this weekend, I will be doing some reading while having the electrodes on.
I am pleased with my results so far. I believe the recommendation is to use it daily for an hour.
